Plan tasks and choose your next goal

Use tasks, subtasks and project context without interrupting your focus session.

A task is something you can finish. A goal tells Meoz what you are working on now. Linking them helps you keep the session pointed at the next useful action.

Write a goal without waiting for AI

In the Goal window, enter an action and subject under Your next action, then confirm. Saving a goal does not wait for an AI quality check. You are responsible for making it specific enough to guide your work.

Also add to Today’s tasks creates a task you can mark done later. Leave it unchecked if you only want a focus goal. Meoz remembers this choice after you confirm, not when you cancel.

Choose an existing task or subtask

For Meoz 1.1.334 on macOS. Use an unfinished task; selecting it for focus is separate from marking it done.

Choose from Tasks opens your task list. Select Use for Goal on an unfinished task or subtask, then confirm the task card in the Goal window. Inside the card, Choose another task lets you select another; Write my own goal returns to your text draft. These were named Change task and Write a goal instead in Meoz 1.1.333.

The Focusing now badge identifies the linked task. Checking its completion circle marks it done; clicking its title edits it. These are different from selecting Focus.

If the task is no longer available or the session changed while the picker was open, close the stale prompt and reopen the current Goal controls. Do not create a duplicate task to recover the selection. Confirm the visible task card before saving; Cancel does not commit the draft selection.

Add only the project context you need

A standalone text goal can use up to three projects. If you also create a task, choose one project or leave it unassigned. An existing task goal uses that task's project; change the task's project in Tasks rather than attaching unrelated projects in Goal.

Manage projects is available even before you write a goal. Deleting a project unassigns its tasks; it does not delete them.

Plan your day

Open Tasks to review Overdue, Today, Upcoming and No date. Use descriptions and subtasks to break down work. A date without a time means the whole day; Set a time adds a specific deadline.

Move to Today reschedules an overdue task and removes its old due time. If you need a new precise deadline, edit the task afterward.

Finish one thing and continue

Mark Task Done or Mark Subtask Done completes the linked work and clears the current goal. The session and focus/break cycle continue. Choose Next Goal lets you decide what comes next without an automatic popup.

Completed today and the completed-task archive let you restore finished tasks. Restoring a task does not automatically select it as the goal. Changing your goal keeps earlier focus time associated with the earlier goal.
