# Set up Meoz for your workflow

Keep useful videos and work tools available while setting deliberate boundaries for distractions.

Build a setup around the work you want to finish, not a blanket ban on every website. This guide covers Meoz 1.1.333 on macOS; check your app language and version if labels differ.

## Start with four choices

Identify your next deliverable, usual distractions, essential tools and websites used for both work and entertainment. For example: “Draft the presentation outline; avoid unrelated videos; keep documentation and team messages available.” You do not need to share private project names or document contents with support.

Use **Start Focus Now** with a concrete goal and a manageable session before enabling any lock. [Check browser access and AI readiness](/docs/troubleshooting); a running timer alone does not confirm either.

## Learn on YouTube without allowing the whole platform

For Meoz 1.1.333 on macOS, check **Settings → Custom Focus Rules → App & Web Lists** and Network Blocker. For goal-aware video judging, youtube.com should not be broadly allowed or explicitly blocked, and an independent network restriction must not prevent access. Change rules only when editing is available.

- Set a goal with a subject and outcome, such as “Learn spreadsheet formulas for the budget worksheet.” Open the specific lesson rather than the home feed.
- Review **Settings → Custom Focus Rules → Guardrails & Policies → Short Video Policy** separately. A long-form tutorial and Shorts do not have the same policy. [Compare the choices](/docs/guardian).
- If you deliberately want YouTube Music exempt from AI judging, add music.youtube.com to **Allowed During Focus (Whitelist)**. This does not grant access through Network Blocker.
- Check Guardian's status on the lesson. **An educational title does not guarantee approval**; use an available Appeal to explain relevance if needed.

If the site stays blocked, read the reason and [identify the blocking mechanism](/docs/blocking). Do not expand your allowlist to solve a permission or provider error.

## Use X or another social platform for a work task

For Meoz 1.1.333 on macOS, use **Start Focus Now** for a bounded task such as “Publish the project update and answer related questions.” Open the relevant post or creation tool directly. Start with **Smart Context (Recommended)** under **Settings → Custom Focus Rules → Guardrails & Policies → Strictness Profile**.

A work goal is useful context, not an automatic exemption for every timeline or feed. Review explicit blocks and Network Blocker if access is prevented. Check the result on the intended page. If no Appeal is available, follow the card's reason; changing goal wording does not override a manual block. A permanent platform-wide allow entry bypasses AI judging for that domain, which may be broader than you want.

## Keep essential work tools available

For Meoz 1.1.333 on macOS, open **Settings → Custom Focus Rules → App & Web Lists**. Add deliberate website exceptions to **Allowed During Focus (Whitelist)**, such as your team's work portal. Free allows up to 20 entries; Pro allows unlimited entries. Check the saved list and actual page status during focus.

Browser rules and **Monitored Apps During Focus** are separate. A native chat application is not its website; review Pro app rules if the app itself receives a nudge. If access still fails, inspect Network Blocker or browser permissions instead of assuming every restriction comes from AI.

## Adjust after one session

Notice which interruptions helped and which interrupted legitimate work. For softer guidance, review **Gentle Companion**, including its exceptions. For firmer boundaries, review **Deep Lockdown** and the [separate Focus Lock restrictions](/docs/sessions). A lock is optional and prevents certain changes until expiry; it is not necessary to try a workflow.

Change one setting at a time when editing is allowed, then check the result in an active Focus phase. If behavior remains unclear, [contact support](/support) with your version, session state, selected policy and displayed reason. Do not send API keys or private browsing content.
